Yareli Miranda was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, and comes from a Mexican family. She participated in Loyola University Chicago’s Speak Up Democracy program in the summer of 2024 and graduated from Northside College Preparatory High School in 2025. Her favorite readings from the program were Plato’s “Crito” and Viet Thanh Nguyen’s “I Love America. That’s Why I Have to Tell the Truth About It.” Yareli now attends DePaul University, where she plans to major in Political Science with a minor in Public Law/Political Thought or International Politics. In her free time, she enjoys practicing Folklórico, learning new languages, and reading.
