Tylin Khalil Dyer was born in Valdosta, Georgia, where he attended Valdosta High School and graduated in May 2023. He participated in Valdosta State University’s Knowledge for Freedom program, where he loved the program’s content and readings, most of all James Baldwin’s “A Letter for my Nephew.” He was awarded the Stamps Scholarship and began attending Georgia State University Honors College in Fall 2023. Tylin will major in English with a Concentration in Creative Writing and minors in American Sign Language and Anthropology. In his free time, Tylin enjoys studying, reading mythology, and creating stories.
